2nd International Tele Neuro Rehabilitation Conference & IFNRCON 2026

Technology supported rehabilitation: Current Scenario, Emerging Trends

The Indian Federation of Neurorehabilitation (IFNR) is a multidisciplinary organization dedicated to improving care for individuals with neurological disabilities. It brings together the entire team of diverse professionals involved in patient recovery and support. Affiliated with the World Federation for NeuroRehabilitation (WFNR), the Asia-Oceanian Society for NeuroRehabilitation (AOSNR) and Word Rehabilitation Alliance (WRA) IFNR promotes global best practices in neurorehabilitation. It organizes training programs, webinars, workshops as well as its annual national conference (IFNRCON) to ensure that all neurorehabilitation professionals in India get a strong academic platform to learn about latest updates in patient management and care. The Journal of the Indian Federation of Neurorehabilitation (JIFNR) further supports IFNR’s mission by publishing the latest research and clinical insights, promoting innovation and best practices. IFNR has also brought out the first Textbook on Neurorehabilitation in India, where experts from various disciplines have contributed chapters. IFNR offers membership benefits, including free access to webinars, discounted conference fees at national and international conferences and fellowship awards for young professionals pursuing a career in neurorehabilitation.

Neurological disorders such as stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease and cerebral palsy affect millions and are among the leading causes of long-term disability. Neurodevelopmental disability is increasing in younger age group with conditions like ADHD on the rise and also in the elderly, with cases of dementia increasing exponentially. While medical treatment addresses immediate health issues, neurorehabilitation plays a critical role in helping patients regain function, independence and quality of life. As the burden of neurological conditions continues to grow, the need for a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach has become more important than ever.

Over the past decade, technology has invaded every aspect of our lives and healthcare delivery is no exception. Today technology innovations like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Brain Computer Interface, Robotics etc have completely changed with way rehabilitation is offered to patients suffering from neurological diseases and disabilities. Every day one hears of applications of technological innovations in neurorehabilitation, which not just improve patient care and outcomes but also make rehabilitation more accessible to masses, even in rural setup, due to remote monitoring abilities. Thus tele neuro rehabilitation is clearly redefining the way rehabilitation services are offered and is the field to watch, with innovations springing up all over the globe.

Hence, IFNR is proud to host the 2nd International Tele Neuro Rehabilitation Conference (ITNRCON) in conjunction with the 13th Annual IFNR Conference (IFNRCON 2026) from April 9 to 12, 2026, at The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake, Mumbai, INDIA. Themed “Technology Supported Rehabilitation: Current Scenario, Emerging Trends,” the event will take a holistic view of neuro rehabilitation, covering every aspect of care and in particular highlight the role of digital tools, tele-rehabilitation and AI in transforming neurorehabilitation.

2nd ITNCON / IFNRCON 2026 is organized in collaboration with the Neurorehab and Telehealth Subsections of the Indian Academy of Neurology (IAN) and Neuroscience Academy of Telecare & Artificial Intelligence (NATAI). The conference is supported by Indian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (IAPMR), The Indian Association Of Physiotherapist (IPA), All India Occupational Therapists Association (AIOTA), Indian Speech and Hearing Association (ISHA), Orthotics & Prosthetics Association of India (OPAI), Association of Neonatal Therapists (ANT), Global Vision Brain Alliance (GVBA), Association of Child Neurology (AOCN) and many more have lent their support.

Faculty at 2nd ITNRCON / IFNRCON 2026 includes a galaxy of internation and national experts across the multidisciplinary team of neurorehabilitation, who will share their insights in disease management and patient care while displaying cutting edge technological innovations which will shape the discipline in years the come. Attendees will benefit from interactive sessions, guest lectures, orations, symposia, supporting organization symposia, meet-the-expert sessions, a neurorehabilitation quiz and opportunities to present their research through e-poster and platform presentations. The IFNR Young Investigator Awards will recognize outstanding research by early-career professionals. A special public forum will bring together patients, caregivers and support groups, encouraging advocacy, awareness and peer support.

The 1st ITNRCON was held in pre-Covid era. Covid and the associated lockdown has brought the role of tele neuro rehab more clearly and the years since have seen a rapid uptake of tele services in rehabilitation by experts and patients alike. Thus the 2nd ITNRCON will definitely shape the way neuro rehabilitation services are delivered to patients in India as well as Low & Middle Income Countries (LMIC).

To give an impetus to the young entrepreneurs in the field who have developed technological innovations, we are happy to announce that we will be having Innovation Hub where they will be able to showcase their products and interact with audience. Ability Expo will also provide young entrepreneurs space to get their innovations to the delegates.

2nd ITNRCON / IFNRCON 2026 is more than a conference—it is a platform for growth, collaboration and impact in the evolving field of neurorehabilitation.
